Someone had to bottle the Electric Callboy party into a studio album: Tanzneid is, per Kerrang! (4/5), « the closest the Germans have come to bringing the euphoric, sweat-soaked mayhem of their live show into your home ». Metal Hammer and Distorted Sound follow at 8/10, the BABYMETAL feature on « RATATATA » is a unanimous highlight, and Metal Hammer sums up the house philosophy: no dramatic reinvention needed.
The grumblers exist: Sputnikmusic (60) finds it « incredibly cheesy and inconsistent », Distorted Sound itself calls it a « beautifully chaotic mess » that sometimes plays more like a compilation than an album. And the public (60.5) is notably cooler than the press (75).
Consensus verdict: if you already found Electric Callboy exhausting, this won’t convert you. If you’re 20 and metal is also a party, it’s the album of the season.
